Located in Shimane Prefecture, Nihonkai Shuzo brews a variety of sake that feature a subtle saline component and delicate sweetness that complements well with fresh seafood. Established in 1888, the brewery sits merely metres from the water on the west coast of Japan with a principle mission to “brew sake which bonds the hearts of the people together”. Rice are sourced from the Shimane and Mitsumi groundwater, and brewed at low temperatures to create the sake.
The range of products include ordinary sake, sparkling sake, and distilled spirits, such as Junmai Ginjo, Junmai Genshu and Tokubetsu Junmai. The alcohol by volume (ABV) typically ranges between 15 to 19% and are recommended to be served in Sake Cup, Sake Glass and Masu. Depending on the product, they can be served warm or at room temperature, but are best consumed chilled.
