Widely recognised as one of the success bakery chains in Singapore, Bengawan Solo is reputed for its popular kueh, traditional cakes and other savouries. Founded in 1979 by Anastasia Tjendri, her Southeast Asian delicacies began as a home business and eventually, the first Bengawan Solo cake shop was set up. As business grew, the company had to utilize a central kitchen which was a first for Singapore’s confectionery industry in the 1980s, and emulated by other bakers. Today, it has expanded to over 30 stores across Singapore.
Bengawan Solo offers high-quality delicacies and iconic traditional treats such as Kueh Lapis and Ondeh Ondeh, using the finest ingredients and maintaining rigorous standards in production to produce. Its range of pastries and kueh are made to maintain a traditional taste, while Bengawan Solo cakes are widely chosen for celebratory occasions. Available in duty-free shopping, the brand also produces cookies and snacks in tins, suitable as gifts or for sharing.
