Hawaiian Host began in Hawaii when founder Mamoru Takitani had a desire and pioneering spirit to create a world-famous candy. While experimenting with different types of chocolate to create a unique recipe, he began dipping macadamia nuts in his secret blend. He purchased a local confectioner company and renamed it to Hawaiian Host in 1950. The brand revolutionised the confectionary industry by becoming the first to dry roast macadamias, which enhanced the nut’s buttery flavour before being dipped into chocolate. From a small candy business, it became the country’s largest exporter of chocolate-covered macadamia products.
Featuring over 14 varieties of macadamia nut and chocolate delicacies, Hawaiian Host has unveiled many flavours over the last few decades. Together with its signature chocolate-covered macadamias, assorted flavours like toffee, caramel and Hawaiian honey are added to create a new taste sensation.
