Mars is a chocolate bar that originated from Slough, in the United Kingdom, and was created by Forrest Mars Sr., who was part of the Mars candy empire. The Mars bar was manufactured in 1932 when Forrest Mars Sr. rented a factory and worked with twelve employees to create a milk chocolate bar with caramel and nougat inside it. While the taste of the Mars bars is relatively similar to the original version, the actual proportions of main ingredients have been altered over the years.
Mars bars are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from small bars known as “Fun Size” and “Snack Time”, the regular bars to “Mars Duo”. In countries like Singapore, Canada and New Zealand, Mars bars are often coated with batter and then deep-fried in oil. While not the healthiest snack, deep-fried Mars bars are incredibly delicious due to the unique texture and the gooey viscosity of the nougat inside the bar when it is slightly melted. Mars bars are an excellent snack to have during your breaks if you are hungry but do not have time to eat a proper meal.
