Chopard’s illustrious history first began in 1860, where founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard from Switzerland quickly took over the world at age 24 as an artisan watchmaker who crafted innovative watches. Since the beginning, Chopard had won many prestigious commissions early, swapping reigns throughout its long history. In 1963, Chopard would eventually be taken over by Karl Scheufele III and his wife Karin. Together, Chopard continues to be one of the last remaining family-run watchmaking and jewellery companies, heralded by current owners who restored the company from commercial dumps and carried on building an empire.
