Apple WWDC 2025: iOS 19

Out of all the Apple announcements, this might be the most hotly anticipated one.

Rumours are that the iPhone interface is getting a major visual overhaul, taking inspiration from visionOS.

We might see a sleek, glass-like aesthetic with increased translucency, rounder app icons, and even a redesigned floating tab bar in native apps.

Alongside the usual rumour mill chatter, here are a few features topping the iOS 19 wish list—things tech insiders hope Apple might bring to life:

  • A refreshed Camera app for even better photo and video capture.
  • Snazzier, more powerful widgets that give you more info at a glance.
  • Deeper customisation for the home screen.
  • The ability to sync public Wi-Fi registrations across all your Apple gadgets.

Keep an eye out for this if you're checking iPhone prices and wondering if it's time to move on from your iPhone 15!

Apple WWDC 2025: iPadOS 19

iPadOS 19 is rumoured to bring the iPad even closer to being a MacBook in tablet form—minus the keyboard, of course.

Apple seems to be doubling down on making the iPad a true productivity machine, not just a glorified screen for bingeing dramas and doodling.

What might be on the cards?

  • A Mac-style Menu Bar: Reports hint at a new top menu bar—similar to macOS—that could make multitasking smoother and give you more control over your apps and content.
  • A Whole New Look: Word is, Apple’s cooking up a major design overhaul inspired by visionOS, possibly even shaking up the iconic app icon shapes.
  • Smarter Battery Management: Low Power Mode might get an intelligent upgrade, with Apple Intelligence stepping in to stretch your battery life further.
  • Apple Intelligence & Siri Upgrades: AI-powered features originally delayed might finally land in iPadOS 19—or at least start rolling out during the cycle.

Could this finally be the year the iPad shakes off its “giant iPhone” rep?

As for when it’s dropping—nothing official yet, but if Apple sticks to its usual routine, expect iPadOS 19 to make its grand entrance sometime mid-September.

Apple WWDC 2025: macOS 16

Your MacBook is also in for a treat with macOS 16.

Word on the street is a complete refresh of icons, menus, and new window styles. Besides a visual overhaul, expect practical improvements like:

  • One-and-Done Wi-Fi Logins: Say goodbye to re-entering Wi-Fi details at every hotel or café. A new feature may let your Mac sync captive Wi-Fi login info across your Apple devices.
  • Smarter, Savvier Siri: Apple Intelligence could finally level up Siri with better context awareness, deeper app integration, and the ability to interact with what’s on screen. Delays aside, the upgrade may arrive with macOS 16—or gradually through future updates.
  • Motion Sickness Relief: You know those floating dots on iPhones that help ease motion sickness in moving vehicles? They might be coming to Mac, with even more ways to customise how they appear.

Oh, and the all-important question at every WWDC: what new California landmark will grace the macOS this year, replacing 'Sequoia'?

Apple WWDC 2025: watchOS 12

This year’s WWDC also brings some exciting announcements for Apple smartwatch fans.

watchOS 12 is rumoured to bring major upgrades, with some calling it the biggest design refresh since iOS 7. Here’s what might be in store:

  • A Bold New Look: Inspired by visionOS, watchOS 12 may feature a modern, refreshed UI—its most dramatic redesign in years.
  • Smarter Messaging: Apple is expected to roll out end-to-end encrypted RCS support in the Messages app, boosting privacy and functionality.
  • AI on Your Wrist: Apple Intelligence might finally land on the Apple Watch, making voice control and smart replies even more seamless on its small screen.

With features like these potentially on the way, this might just be the year you finally give in and strap on an Apple Watch.

Apple WWDC 2025: AirPods

Could your AirPods also be getting a major glow-up?

According to the latest rumours, Apple may be planning some serious upgrades for both current and future AirPods models—with smarter features, better audio, and possibly even a sleeker new design.

Here’s what the whispers are saying might be coming soon:

  • AI-Boosted Audio: Apple is rumoured to be working on smarter Siri interactions and AI-supported live translation—potentially making conversations in different languages smoother and more seamless.
  • Next-Level Connectivity: There’s talk of Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast support, which could enhance sound quality and accessibility.
  • Design Refresh: The next-gen AirPods Pro 3, expected in 2025, may feature slimmer earbuds, a reworked case with a hidden LED, and a front-facing capacitive pairing button—similar to what’s rumoured for the next-gen standard AirPods.
  • Better ANC & Battery Management: A new audio chip could improve Active Noise Cancellation even further, and Apple is reportedly testing AI-powered battery features to stretch usage time across its devices.

Of course, none of this is confirmed—just chatter from analysts and supply chain sources. But with the AirPods Pro 2 nearing their three-year mark and the AirPods Max long overdue for a refresh, many are speculating that big updates are on the horizon.

So, should you grab a pair now or wait for what’s next? That’s the age-old Apple dilemma.
