Singapore's 53rd Anniversary

Singapore is 53 years old on 9th August 2018! We celebrate this year’s National Day with renewed anticipation and pride. The theme for this year’s National Day “We are Singapore” aptly emphasises our common experience as a people since independence. Most of us have shared our formative years in Singapore with family, friends, schoolmates and colleagues, enjoying our successes as well as helping one another through challenges together.

The celebration at the National Day Parade is never complete without the Singapore Armed Forces’ combined army, navy and air-force march-past. The military march-past is always one of the highlights at the parade that delights everyone. Most Singaporeans would have themselves or family members served National Service and the NDP is a major annual event to honour the commitment of our military personnel. The image of Singapore’s army, navy and air-force personnel on PureGold.sg’s SG53 Medallion is our recognition that they have contributed and sacrificed much for our nation’s security, stability and progress.
