Created to honour The Balvenie’s largely unchanged Home Floor Maltings, in
operation since around 1931, this Limited-Edition whisky is made from 100% home malted barley and finished
in Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.
One of only a handful of distilleries in Scotland with a malting floor, this expression is made from barley entirely home grown and malted on The Balvenie Estate.
Initially matured in American oak casks, Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie finishes the whisky for about 5 months in ex-Sherry Bodega European oak butts from
Jerez. Highly prized in Sherry making, these casks have been used throughout our long history.
This results in a rare expression of our classic Balvenie style: beautifully balanced and refined, with velvety, rich, honeyed notes which flow into a sweet and lingering finish.
