FRANCE - BORDEAUX - AOC MONTAGNE SAINT EMILION

A family property (Linard family) in the heart of the great Bordeaux vineyards. Created in 1960, Château Grand Barail, an 8-hectare vineyard, is located on a clay-limestone mound overlooking the vast wine-growing area of Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Lalande de Pomerol.
In 2001, two experienced agro-food engineers (François and Maria-Dolorès Linard) became owners of the château and continued to develop it with two objectives: quality and respect for traditions and terroir.

Following a fairly mild winter resulting in early, generous budding, the cool spring tempered the vine’s passion for growth. Flowering was late and spread out over a slightly longer period than usual. Summer got going in late June with warm, dry conditions that were conducive to even ripening.
Some rain in mid-September gently restored the balance of the grapes and the subsequent Indian summer enabled a tranquil harvest. Grapes were harvested in excellent health.
