An innovative, softly sweet, minimalistic London dry uses botanicals foraged on beaches around Edinburgh.
The distillation team at the EDINBURGH DISTILLERIES worked collaborately with HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY'S CENTRE FOR BREWING & DISTILLING to craft EDINBURGH SEASIDE GIN. The lightest gin in the London Dry range. Bladderwrack seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy create a fresh and savoury flavour with a hint of sweetness. A combination of grassy notes and minerality complement the pinery juniper to make a remarkable, extraordinary gin.
Introduced in 2015, EDINBURGH SEASIDE GIN was the result of a collaboration between the team at the INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR BREWING & DISTILLING at HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY in Edinburgh and the Head Distiller of the EDINBURGH DISTILLERIES. Bladderwrack seaweed is high in residual sugar and adds a sweetness to the nose and palate, bringing with it the scent of sea air. Scurvy grass carries a slight spice and salinity. Ground ivy adds fresh, summery grass notes to the finish. The unique seaside botanicals make this gin reminiscent of a bracing walk on a Scottish beach. EDINBURGH SEASIDE GIN makes for a bracingly refreshing Gin & Tonic, garnished with a sprig of green samphire. Or try a dry Seaside Martini with olive and anchovy garnish: a sunny-day favourite in the making.
