Laphroaig is one of only a few distilleries still using a traditional malting floor. It is here where Laphroaig 12-year-old began its life. Starting as malted barley, gently dried and infused by the smoke from our signature cold smoking process in our kilns. It's then mixed with the crisp waters of Islay’s unique Kilbride Stream before being distilled. Fully matured for 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at natural colour for a sweet and powerful flavour.

Since 1815, we’ve made our whisky by the courage of our own convictions. Beginning with hand turning our malted barley and burning the peat at low temperatures to flavour the malt with cool smoke to slow distillation to maintain quality.
