Expert review:
International Wine Challenge
Rich flavours of pineapple, melon, ripe citrus, strawberry, mandarin and fruit preserve, Hints of passion fruit, tangerine and apple integrate well on the palate with banana, honey, fig and candied fruit. Good acidity and a rich, creamy texture, well balanced with a clean, dry finish.
Background:
By using rich rice and soft water, Nagai has managed to produce a fine sake with a sweet creamy essence. The inspiration for the drink came from the flowers that bloom in Oze valley, where the sake is brewed. The brewers took the beauty of those yellow flowers and put it in a bottle. The light, delicate sweetness is enticing, and caters to beginners as well as seasoned sake drinkers.
