For many years, we've used both Grenache and Syrah, in multiple combinations, to create our China Doll blends. This year, we decided to go headfirst to the top of Atlas Peak and select special blocks of Syrah from Stagecoach Vineyard to be the backbone of the 2022 vintage. Inspired by the many years of China Doll, this vintage continues the hallmark of pairing our label with a crisp rosé—perfect for a hot day. Fermented and aged in stainless steel.
A slow rush of the 2022 China Doll pours a deep salmon core and a soft touch of neon purple, while bright aromatics of wild strawberry, hibiscus, and cream originate from the glass. Arriving on the palate, freshness and juicy come to mind - white peach, apricot and other ripe stone fruit plus hints of pomegranate and a succinct minerality. Energy keeps flowing through the finish with notes of pink guava and Pink Lady apple, pleasantly closing the wine.
