Portal's 10 Year Old Tawny is a blend of different wines aged in old casks for many years in their cellars where they acquire the amber colour and turn the young rich fruit into elegance. It's big yet balanced by fine acidity. It developed aromas of caramel, cafe au lait along with nutty flavours. A classic combination with tarte tatin, crè:me brû:lé:e or macadamia ice-cream.

Quinta do Portal is a family fine winemaking company that embraced with passion the “Boutique Winery” concept and are the producers of of Douro wines, premium Port Wines, and fortified Moscatel wines. Today they are the 5th generation of the Mansilha family producing wines in the Pinhão river valley.

Quality has always been the family's motto, as can be seen by the countless international awards and 90+ points reviews given to their wines, olive oil and other services. The Douro is the oldest and one of the most important wine regions in the world, spreading over a total area of approximately 250,000 hectares and is divided into three sub-regions that differ greatly from each other not only as regards the weather but also for socio-economical reasons. Quinta do Portal properties are located in the Cima-Corgo subregion, an area that has been showing very good balance regarding its resistence to climate changes. The vineyards are spread by 5 estates - Quinta do Portal, Quinta do Confradeiro, Quinta dos Muros, Quinta da Abelheira and Quinta das Manuelas - in a total of 100 ha under vines. The different altitudes and solar exposures and the variety of grape varieties allow us to produce excellent grapes that produce a diversity of wines of great quality.
