The Glenlivet Groundbreaker Collection is a limited edition series celebrating travel and original perspectives. In our first edition, we’ve collaborated with renowned artist Hong Yi to reflect upon how unique travel experiences shape who we become.
Red Hong Yi’s design takes us around the world to the meaningful
places in her life: her beginnings in the mountains of Borneo: to the bustling streets of Shanghai and onto the shores of Los Angeles: and finally to the valleys of Scotland, at The Glenlivet. The sum of these journeys allowed her to become ‘the artist who paints without a brush’, creating her technique of charring parchment to paint using traditional red Chinese pigments.
