As the Year of the Snake emerges, a time of wisdom, renewal, and harmony unfolds. To honor this moment of transformation and quiet elegance, Maison Billecart-Salmon unveils a limited-edition gift box for its iconic Le Rosé, where artistry and tradition converge to celebrate the beauty of nature and the spirit of the snake.
For the fififth creation in its Lunar New Year series, the family-owned champagne house has once again entrusted Chinese artist Zhao Mingru with the design. Drawing inspiration from Cai Yun’s timeless poem Wu Yu Bai Jue, Zhao has crafted Si She Chun Hui (“Spring Awakening of the Snake”), a masterpiece that combines the precision of traditional Gongbi painting with the expressive flfluidity of Xieyi. Her artwork captures a graceful serpent rising amidst blooming magnolias, resilient stones, and fertile earth—a vivid representation of renewal, harmony, and the promise of abundance.
“When I tasted Le Rosé, I was transported into a world of fifinesse, elegance, and romance,” shares Zhao Mingru. “This cuvée inspired me to paint a scene where nature’s elements—snake, magnolia, stones, and earth—come together in harmony. Through my brushstrokes, I sought to honor the Maison’s exceptional Savoir-Faire and its motto, ‘Strive for excellence.’ The snake, poised with vitality and grace, raises its head toward the future, symbolizing hope and foretelling a fruitful harvest.”
