The cool climate vineyards of Chateau Rongzi are situated between Latitude 35°and 36° North, similar to some of the best vineyards of France, Italy, Spain, and California. Perched on hilly terrain 950 to 1,300 meters high in Xiangning, Shanxi Province, the vineyards have the most advantageous exposure to fully ripen grapes, producing wines that are elegant, of lower alcohol, and possessing enhanced freshness and layered complexity.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Complex, tertiary aroma/perfume of sandalwood, and blackcurrant cassis.
Palette: Bouquet and fruit carried by fully evolved, smooth tannins with a lift on the long, persistent finish. Great freshness. A very refined, elegant Cabernet blend inspired by the great reds of Bordeaux.
Food Pairing : Excellent pairing with white, pink, and red meats – including pork, chicken, pigeon, duck goose, beef, steaks, lamb, and mutton – whether steamed, braised, stir-fried, deep-fried, roasted or in a stew or casserole.
