Châteaux G. ARPIN wines are the result of a family tradition which has been living for decades.
After he came back from the First World War, Jean-Baptiste Arpin bought his first wine hectare in Pomerol in 1919. Guy, Gérard and today, Gäel take care of the vineyard thanks to their know-how, which is the G. Arpin wine hallmark. Authentic and elegant, these fruity wines are a wonderful blending of the merlot fullness and the cabernet true robustness.
The vintage was marked by mild temperatures and low rainfall throughout the winter, up to the month of April, allowing a harmonious budbreak across the vine. The summer season got off to a great start, concentrating the flowering period over the first two weeks of June. A very hot start to July caused water stress which led to early veraison and nicely concentrated fruit. The weather for harvesting was dry and sunny, with cool night-time temperatures, keeping the grapes in a perfect sanitary condition.
