Veneto, Italy
Duty Free Exclusive
Includes 2 bottles of Masi Nectar Campofiorin, 750ml
The nectar of Valpolicella is without doubt the Corvina grape variety. Masi Nectar Campofiorin is a blend of Rondinella, Molinara, Corvinone and Corvina. While Rondinella provides structure and Molinara adds spiciness and acidity, it is Corvina, the only grape to undergo the Appassimento drying technique, that lends softness and cherry-tinged fruitiness typical of wines from the Verona region.
Masi Nectar Campofiorno Rosso del Veronese IGT is striking on the nose with lively, bright, ripe fruit aromas, particularly the sweetly-spiced cherries. Full-bodied on the palate with soft and pervasive tannins. Good acidic balance helps provide excellent drinkability. Attractive finish with hints of spiciness. Cellar worthy for the next 15-20 years. It is a versatile wine and goes well with many different dishes, including pasta and risotto. Perfect with grilled and roasted meat, ideal with mature cheeses.
With roots in Valpolicella Classica, Masi produces and distributes Amarone and other premium wines inspired by the values of the Venetian territories. The use of native grapes and autochthonous methods, and the research and experimentation carried out by its Technical Group, make it one of the most famous producers of high-quality Italian wines in the world. The Masi story began in 1772, when the Boscaini family acquired prestigious vineyards in the small valley called “Vaio dei Masi”, which is the origin of the company’s name. After more than 200 years of passionate winemaking the company is still in family hands, run by the sixth and seventh generations. A benchmark in the art of producing Amarone at a world level, Masi constantly innovates and passes on its expertise in the Appassimento method, which has been practised since the time of the Ancient Romans.
