Bolle di Borro Metodo Classico Brut Rosé (Without Giftbox)
Toscana, Italy
95 points – Wine Enthusiast
94 points – Wine Advocate
To produce this wine the company has chosen a specific Sangiovese vineyard because of its cool location, strong day-night temperature variations and slow maturation, bound to assure the product fresh aromas, balanced acidity and low sugar content, where early aromas of bread crust open onto citrus hints of cedar that fade into golden apple, all supported by a creamy texture and a fine perlage. Ideal for aperitifs, light and fish based courses, as well as fresh cheese.
Winery Description
“Il Borro” extends over an area of 1,100 hectares surrounding a thousand-year-old medieval village in the heart of Tuscany. It is situated in the Upper Arno Valley, a wide basin between the Pratomagno massif and the Chianti hills. Today it is a cutting-edge farm, entirely organic and eco-sustainable since 2015. The pride of the estate are the 85 hectares of vineyards and the 29 of olive groves. Over 272 hectares of fodder and arable land and three hectares of organic horticulture complete the land dedicated to agricultural activities.
The Estate was purchased by Ferruccio Ferragamo in 1993, and since then the philosophy inspiring every activity has been that of exalting the characteristics and cultural traditions of the land, according to the principles of sustainability. Il Borro vineyards are planted on the hills of the Val d’Arno, between 350 and 500 meters above sea level, and boast a wide range of terroirs, allowing the estate to obtain the best from each grape variety. This is why both native and international grape varieties coexist today on these lands, expressing each their full potential.
