The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of our Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours is complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.

Macallan 18 year old Sherry Oak is simply a joy to drink. It’s positioned as a luxury whisky that it tastes like a luxury whisky - whilst it’s expectedly sherry-forward, I’d not describe it as any type of bomb – everything is silky and integrated with no jarring tannins or overegged cask influence. I also detected no sulphur whatsoever.

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999. Originally, The Macallan was matured only in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Beginning in 2004, The Macallan introduced a new main product, the Fine Oak series, with the whisky mellowed in bourbon oak casks as well as sherry ones.
