Origins Of Cointreau Liqueur

Cointreau Liqueur was born during the Industrial Revolution. The Cointreau family, from where the drink takes its name, began venturing into liqueur production in 1849. It wasn’t until 1875 when Édouard Cointreau began obsessively experimenting with orange peels, alcohol, water and sugar for the perfectly balanced orange liqueur.
