A Tuscan red wine from one of the most famous Italian wineries. The Castiglioni estate has been a defining symbol of the Frescobaldi family's wine-growing tradition since 1300. Production of Tuscan wines, enjoyed by both the papal court and English court of Henry VIII in the 16th century, began here.
Tenuta Frescobaldi Castiglioni has a beautiful, bright ruby-red colour with tinges of purple. The nose reveals fruity notes of cherry, blackberry, blueberry and mulberry. Equally marvellous are the spiced notes of cinnamon and star anise and light hints of black pepper. More general tertiary and toasted notes then emerge. It is soft and enveloping on the palate. The tannins are resolved. The finish is long and persistent.

Here the richness of the weather and the soil is expressed in the structure of the wines, thanks to the symbiosis between fresh earth, a mild climate and the afternoon breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Expressing the contemporary nature of Tuscan wines. The estate is the oldest of the Frescobaldi family’s estates on the Florentine hills where 700 years of wine-growing history began.
