Vasse Felix
FILIUS SAUVIGNON BLANC SEMILLION
Margaret River, Australia
91 points - Halliday Wine Competition
One of Australia's pioneer wineries and Margaret River's founding wine estate. An white wine from Western Australia that is a sophisticated, pure and expressive interpretation of this popular Margaret River blend with enticing minerality and savoury undertones.
The 2021 Filius Sauvignon Blanc Semillion is a pale straw color in the glass with a green tinge. A lovely ocean fresh nose with hints of lemon sorbet, passionfruit, pineapple and peach, all in subtle balance. Some delicate notes of winter herb and pinenuts bring a savoury dimension. A precise, clean palate with medium-weight fruit and a fresh light core. Fine and pure fruit arrives early and the wine finishes with a refreshing and clean saline finish. Enjoy with fresh fruit salads, light fish dishes, or as an aperitif.
Established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr. Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River's founding wine estate.
Pristine isolation, ancient lands and twin oceans make Margaret River a wine paradise and one of the world’s greatest environments to grow ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. These varieties, alongside Shiraz and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends are the primary focus at Vasse Felix.
All wines are grown in Vasse Felix’s four Margaret River vineyards then vinified and bottled within the modern winery, situated at the Home Vineyard overlooking the Wilyabrup Brook.
The Vasse Felix family of wines reflect their commitment to expressing and exploring the very best of Margaret River, and continuing Tom Cullity's original aim to "make the best possible wine".
