As the pioneer winery in Australia's Margaret River wine region, Vasse Felix's commitment to Syrah is historic, with the oldest Syrah vineyards. The Vasse Felix Syrah is a modern, elegant, cool climate style crafted from our premier parcels of southern Margaret River Syrah (Shiraz).
The 2021 Vasse Felix Syrah is a transparent bright ruby with a purple tinge. On the nose, lifted aniseed, white pepper, cacao, clove and pine sawdust sit on bright fragrant raspberry, cranberry and Japanese sour plum. Beautifully silky entrance, with chalkiness on the finish leaving a dry and immensely fragrant perfume lingering. Raspberry and cranberry juice with a red peppercorn spice and a hint of red liquorice remain. An excellent wine to pair with red meats, hearty stews, poultry, and red sauce pasta dishes.
Established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr. Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River's founding wine estate.
Pristine isolation, ancient lands and twin oceans make Margaret River a wine paradise and one of the world’s greatest environments to grow ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. These varieties, alongside Shiraz and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends are the primary focus at Vasse Felix.
All wines are grown in Vasse Felix’s four Margaret River vineyards then vinified and bottled within the modern winery, situated at the Home Vineyard overlooking the Wilyabrup Brook.
The Vasse Felix family of wines reflect their commitment to expressing and exploring the very best of Margaret River, and continuing Tom Cullity's original aim to "make the best possible wine".
